Meet uBlur

A privacy-first screenshot editor built for speed

uBlur helps QA teams, product managers, and creators blur, highlight, and annotate sensitive screenshots directly in the browser. No uploads, no accounts—just fast edits in a private workspace.

Why we built uBlur

In today's hyper-connected world, we share screenshots more than ever—in bug reports, Slack channels, support tickets, and educational materials. However, these quick captures often contain more than intended: customer names, internal URLs, proprietary metrics, or personal identifiers.

We realized that existing online tools often required users to compromise their privacy by uploading these sensitive images to a cloud server for simple edits. uBlur was born from the conviction that you shouldn't have to choose between utility and security. By processing every pixel locally in your browser, uBlur keeps you in complete control of your data.

Our Local-First Philosophy

uBlur is built on the "Local-First" principle. This means the application's core logic is delivered to your browser, but the data it processes—your images—stays on your machine. We leverage advanced browser APIs to perform heavy-duty image manipulation without ever needing a backend server to see your files. This architecture isn't just about privacy; it's also about speed. Without the overhead of uploading and downloading files, your editing experience is nearly instantaneous.

Editorial ownership

uBlur is built and maintained by Sarthak Kuchhal, Founder, uBlur. Our product guides are written for real screenshot workflows and updated when the web editor changes.

  • Product-first guides are reviewed against the current uBlur web editor.
  • We update workflows when the UI or export behavior changes.
  • If you spot drift, email [email protected] and we will review it.

Privacy by default

Every edit stays on your device. We never upload, store, or inspect your images—period.

Zero friction

No sign-ups, no paywalls, no waiting. Paste a screenshot, make your changes, and export in seconds.

Helpful content

We publish deep-dive tutorials for blurring, highlighting, redacting, and presenting screenshots so your team ships faster.
